About
The Author

Deborah is a lover of Christ who is passionate about seeing people—especially young people—discover their true identity in Christ. With a heart for the next generation, Deborah founded the Young Minds Campaign, a nonprofit organisation dedicated to empowering young people from disadvantaged communities to develop healthy self-concepts, rise above limiting circumstances, and envision a brighter future.

Although raised in the church as a pastor’s daughter, Deborah experienced a season of drifting away from her faith. During that time, she wrestled deeply with her sense of purpose, battled depressive episodes, and even faced moments of suicidal thoughts. Out of this painful journey emerged a testimony of God’s grace—a story of brokenness transformed into restoration. This poetry collection explores those themes with honesty and vulnerability, revealing not only the healing power of Christ but also the profound call to rise into the fullness of one’s God-given purpose.

It is Deborah’s prayer that every reader will encounter Christ’s love within these pages, surrender fully to Him, and begin the life-changing journey of discovering who they truly are in Him—and stepping boldly into the purpose He has placed within them.

Dear reader,

I invite you to a journey of discovery of who you are and what your name really is. This might sound strange, given your name is probably the first word you heard, the first thing you learned to write and the word you hear most. But what if I told you that there is a name and identity God has given you? Who we all truly are can only be found in one place, and His name is Jesus. As you read this collection, read with an open heart, reflect and allow it to take you on a journey of enquiry. When we look in the scriptures, we come across a man called Simon however, there came a day when Jesus revealed his true name to him ‘Peter’ and the prophetic destiny assigned to him in heaven, that upon him the Church would be established. This could only happen because Peter was a disciple of Christ. In other words, through Peter’s fellowship with Christ and intimacy with Him he was able to find out his true identity. Yes we may no longer be in the dispensation of Immanuel, where God is with us walking around in the form of a man, but we have been left the gift of the Holy Spirit, who the Bible says will teach us all things. I believe one of the things He can teach a man or woman is who they truly are. So in the example of Peter, let us sit at the feet of the Lord and embark on this journey of finding out who we are.

Matt 16:18 KJV “And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”

So I’ll ask you again, who are you truly, and for what purpose are you here?

I pray that you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it

With Love,

Deborah Tabi
